Fratello was invited to share in this significant moment in the brand＊s history, so I jumped on a plane to Geneva, excited to get a head start on next week＊s action. This watch is one of only 4,800 steel 3700s made. It wears like a glove. The size of the watch, which earned it the nickname ""Jumbo"", was not too large nor too small in the modern era. This Nautilus, too, is neither too thin or outdated. The 3700/1A simply is a timeless and perfect watch. This is due to the dial maker Stern Freres. The grayish blue dial with horizontal grooves has a nautical feel and is elegant. This is, in my opinion the watch that rules them all.
Squale, a niche brand that produces only dive watches, is unique. Charles von Buren, an aristocrat, founded the company as a case manufacturer shortly after WWII. Many manufacturers used Squale case, but Blancpain was the most prominent. Vintage dive watches with the Squale logo (Squale means shark) are available from many brands. The brand continued to use the double signature when it started making complete dive watches. It was an ode of sorts to its former as a case maker.
The movement is wound by pressing a button at 9 o’clock on the side of the case.
